Honoring our seniors -- Our church family gathered to pay tribute to our elders at our annual seniors' luncheon, Sunday May 4. At left, Pastor Beverly attends her final lunch for the seniors among her flock at NKUMC. This was also Golden Cross Sunday which supports UMC retirement centers.  PHOTOS

Safiatu's heart surgery successful -- Safiatu had successful heart surgery on Thursday and doctors expect a full recovery in about six weeks. Thank you for all your prayers and continue to keep Safiatu and her families in your prayers. This is wonderful news and something we have all been praying for all these years.

At right, Safiatu learns to ice skate for the first time. She can expect more new experiences after her recovery from heart surgery.  

 

Church Events This Week

In Transition: Pastor Beverly's last Sunday at NKUMC will be Sunday June 8. She will be honored with a farewell luncheon following service at 11:30 AM. Future preaching schedule: June 15--Paula Martasian; June 22--Bowman Halstead; June 29--Larry Price; July 6-- The Rev. Lori Eldredge arrives as new pastor.

New Pastor named for North Kingstown UMC -- The Rev. Lori Eldredge--a native of Cape Cod and currently an associate pastor at Wesley UMC in Concord, NH--will replace Beverly Stenmark as pastor at North Kingstown UMC, starting in July.
