Funeral Service will be held Friday November 20, 2009 at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to North Kingstown United Methodist Church, 450 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown, RI 02852 would be appreciated. A reception/collation for family and friends will be held at North Kingstown UMC following burial.
Eleanor R. (Sechehay) Bartkovick, 83, of Virginia Avenue, North Kingstown, died Sunday November 15, 2009 at South County Hospital. She was the wife of the late William A. Bartkovick.
Born in Queens, NY, she was a daughter of the late Fritz and Olga (Fessenbecker) Fuchs and was raised by the late Martin and Phoebe Sechehay after her parents passed away.
Mrs. Bartkovick was previously employed in customer relations for New York Telephone Co. and as a sales clerk for Barnes & Noble. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Queens College in 1948.
Eleanor attended North Kingstown United Methodist Church and enjoyed the Thursday Ladies Lunch Group. She enjoyed the fine arts, classical music, gourmet food, and gardening.
She was the beloved mother of Christa E. Renehan and her husband Edward of North Kingstown. Caring sister of Elizabeth O. Ruby of Chelmsford, MA, Martin Sechehay, Jr. of Chatham, NJ, and Joseph Williams of East Rockaway, NY. Loving grandmother of William J. Renehan and Katherine E. Renehan. Cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews.
