Charge Conference 2010--budget approved, missions recalled, inspiration from our new DS

Published Sunday December 12, 2010

The Giving Tree continues to give to Project Outreach during the Season of Advent.

The Third Candle of Advent is Lighted. Additional photo of Dunne family lighting the candles.

Photos above and below, The Rev. Seok Hwan Francis Hong, RISEM District Superintendent, presides over the 2010 Charge Conference.

A video message from our bishop, The Rev. Peter D. Weaver, raises questions for the congregation to discuss.

Photos above and at right, your retiring website editor, Larry Price, was surprised and emotionally moved by being on the other side of the camera and receiving the congregation's gift of a two-sided plaque for 10 years of service as your editor. The plague had the logo of Larry's beloved Red Sox on one side and a thank you from the congregation on the other side. (Photos by Robin Marek)

Pastor Lori looks on as Vivian Flade recounts the early history of our church at the close of the conference. Vivian, along with Ida Green who has been hospitalized after a fall, are the two remaining charter members of North Kingstown UMC. Vivian's account was a fitting close to our session, reminding us from where we came and urging us to pursue an even brighter future.
