2nd Sunday of Easter and Celebration of All Creation (Earth Sunday)

April 19, 2009

At left, lay speaker Ellen Jacke preaches the message of 'living in relationship' with all of God's creations: "What are we passing on to our children? But even more insidious, we are bringing up a generation that has no real experience with nature. Many of our children are spending so many hours in front of the television and computers that there is now a national 'No Child Left Indoors' movement to get our kids outside.  We are now 'manufacturing' programs to help them learn outdoor 'play' and discover that food comes from fields and not supermarkets. How can they 'till and keep' if they don’t even know that there is a garden?"   SERMON

At right, flowers adorn the outside of the church on All Creation Sunday.

On Sunday April 26 at 11:30 AM, NKUMC will 'go green' in a Spiritual Formation Workshop on preserving God's creations for future generations.

Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22.
