PASTOR'S GREETING |

A Word From Our Pastor By The Rev. Lorene E. Eldredge The North Kingstown United Methodist Church is a most welcoming congregation, gathering for worship at 8 and 10A.M. on Sunday mornings. It is a joy to be here! Located at 450 Boston Neck Road, a mile from Narragansett Bay and the village of Wickford, services begin with an informal hymn sing approximately 10 minutes before the hour. While the 8AM service in more informal, both services are blended in the style of worship. Nursery care is provided during the services. A time of fellowship follows both services. In the United Methodist Church we celebrate two sacraments, each a response and visible sign of God’s invisible and always available love. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. We believe that everyone who either loves the Lord or desires to know Jesus Christ is invited to participate at Christ’s Table and receive God’s grace. It is a love we cannot earn and is offered by God’s mercy alone! The sacrament of Baptism is offered to those desiring to be baptized in the family of God after a time of instruction with the pastor. We offer infant, youth, and adult baptism. North Kingstown U.M.C. has a very active laity, offering Adult Sunday School between services from 9:15 to 9:45 A.M. Sunday School for Junior and Senior High Youth begins at 9:30 AM and the youth then join the 10:A.M. services at 10:20. Children Pre-k through grade 6 attend the first part of the worship service, and then after a special children’s time are dismissed to attend their classes. Youth group meets at various times depending on planned activities. A
Shepherding group meets on Monday evening at 7P.M. to lift up prayers and
concerns, to send notes to those needing an encouraging word, and to join in a
study of the scriptures that will be used in the following Sunday’s worship. You
are invited to join at any time. There are several other Adult Bible Studies
and Discussion groups, including Disciple, meeting at the church and in
members homes.
We invite you to join us or another United Methodist Church [see Find a Church on www.neumc.org for worship]. If you are looking for a church home, we hope that you will come and visit. If you have been separated from God, from your faith community, or have been searching for a fellowship in which to establish a relationship with Jesus Christ, we invite you to take this opportunity to begin worshipping with us to reconnect with God and a caring faith community. For further information please call the church office [401-294-9293 church@nkumc.necoxmail.com ] and we will be glad to help you. | Sermons | Visitor's Guide | Directions to our church | Events | Recent stories & photos | Contacts#
