Celebrating
Our Seniors at North Kingstown UMC -- Annual Luncheon, May 17, 2009
On a Sunday when the pastor's sermon reminded us of the value of friendship, it was appropriate to enjoy a time of fellowship and honor the senior members of our church. Three of our members were here for the chartering of our church in 1967. At far right in photo on the right is Ida Green (sitting next to Bess Rhodin), who along with Sam and Viv Flade, were there at the beginning. Sam and Viv could not be with us today due to Sam's illness. Our prayers for Sam's recovery are daily. Several members of our church have been active in the congregation for over 30 years. The church was founded in 1966 and formally chartered in 1967.
Jan and Al Brown, members of our church, provided musical entertainment during the luncheon (see more photos below).
Photo, goodies for our seniors prepared by the congregation and Sunday School youth.
